Description
A leading Chemical Manufacturing Plant in Durban requires the services of an Electrical Engineer.
Main job function
- Analyze and identify under-performing equipment, plant and process systems and put measures in place to increase optimization
- Evaluation of electrical maintenance spares and ensures that minimum stock levels are maintained
- Provide technical support to Line Management and participate in project teams
- Ensure proper planned electrical maintenance and conduct preventative maintenance and root cause problem solving
- Ensure legal electrical engineering compliance
- Effectively deal with electrical breakdowns and ensure optimum availability vs downtime
- Continuously improve electrical SOP‘s and other relevant documentation
- Conduct electrical risk assessments daily
- Ensure that daily electrical inspections are diligently carried out
- Install and maintain good housekeeping practices
- Stay abreast of technological advancements in relevant discipline
- Ensure quality control of product and workmanship including site audits
- Implement corrective action plans and implementation strategy from audit findings
- Prepare and present incident reports to management
- Maintaining an ongoing dialogue with the HOD and other key team members, keeping them abreast of all activities, developments and challenges on site
Qualifications
- Matric
- National Diploma in Electrical Engineering
Experience/Criteria
- 5-10 years maintenance/electrical experience in a chemical manufacturing environment or similar
- Must have SAP knowledge
- Must be computer literate
- Solid supervisory experience and ability to motivate team members
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good planning and organizing skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent presentation skills
- The ability to write clear reports and keep accurate records
